Saturday

the road and the mountain

when I first watched movie The Mountain
I remember the long quiet moments
staying with me the most
the entire movie seems to have
that sort of lingering tone

I made this while I was watching
it the second time
layering the images and sounds
which created more of a memory

 the long moments staring out
the window
on unfamiliar roads

Wednesday

. Farewell before and welcome the next

Welcome the new decade .
The next ten years with new art and sounds ,
walks in nature and taking care of it ,
patience and moving softly through things ,
good films , good friends and talks dispersed
with current affairs , sadness , silence
and laughter . Finding inspiration and inspiring .
Reading new books (and old favorites)
Finding new places to visit .. Adventurous places
here and far .

Hello 2020 . Slow , smooth , soft , steady , sane .

(P.s.. last night for New years eve and the last night
of the decade , we picked up crepes for dinner ,
watched The Girl on a Motorcycle and hung out with
the little animals in our warm cabin by the sea .
And while watching the movie ..
I couldn't help thinking about Marianne Faithful
and the strange obstacle filled life she has led .
This image of her singing alongside David Bowie
is somewhere in the back of my mind .)

Friday

a story of an unfortunate personality

i hate television. i hate it as much as peanuts.
but i can't stop eating peanuts.

In the mid-1950s, Welles began work on Don Quixote, initially a commission from CBS television. Welles expanded the film to feature length, developing the screenplay to take Quixote and Sancho Panza into the modern age. Filming stopped with the death of Francisco Reiguera, the actor playing Quixote, in 1969. Orson Welles continued editing the film into the early 1970s. At the time of his death, the film remained largely a collection of footage in various states of editing. The project and more importantly Welles's conception of the project changed radically over time. A version of the film was created from available fragments in 1992 and released to a very negative reception.

i feel i have to protect myself against things...
so i'm pretty careful to lose most of them.

Tuesday

well they are paper flowers

today is a blah sort of day.
won't go into details,
just is.
and when i am spaced out and a bit dizzy headed,
i tend to day dream a lot.
i think about things like this-
one of my favorite scenes from one of my
favorite movies...
sometimes -
paper flowers smell like paper flowers...
