See Me

Noelle Maline

Wednesday

I can hear a calliope . inside the paper walls

she worked as a switchboard operator
in a small cubicle in a small closet
in a corner of the room
they told her that her voice was appropriate
she dreampt of daydreams
as a fanciful floating trapeze artist
with faint calliope sounds
somewhere from the back of her mind

noelle maline

I can hear a calliope
inside the paper walls
paint ink pastel on paper

Thursday

go back to your dream . the hidden sea

go back to your dream
your not here
you did not disappear
stories of a strange day
imaginary communication

noelle ione maline

 paint, gouache, gesso on paper

standing at the edge of the dark sea
i prefer the sea
in an empty landscape

Sunday

thoughts from inside the walls

thoughts from inside the walls
of an old apartment
the pipes and papers walls
the telephone lines

I'm a ghost

noelle maline
(gouache ink paint on gelatin silver print)

the ghosts of things
when one closes their eyes
the color of eigengrau
a little like the sound
of the void or static of in-between

 haunting moments like a time-lapse
blurred memories
of things before things

this short beautiful video is
constant reference somewhere in the back of my mind

a group exhibition in New York . out of the shadows

 Marvelous and exciting news!

a small door near the floor
she just got into a show in New York
at the Carter Burden Gallery
It will be in November and December
I'll get her ready and sail her off soon

out of the shadows

noelle maline

empty rooms
awashed with static
small doors
and coded shapes
the ghost of things
and hidden languages
